Girls Gone Wild!!

3 Sep

Oh yeah that’s right two wild and crazy girls went to Vegas this weekend!!! And so did me and my mom.

The drive in was pretty good, only about 4 hours and we were there. My mom flew in from Seattle the night before and we set off for Vegas the next morning. On the way to Vegas we timed it just right to eat lunch at “The Greek”! If you haven’t been there it is definitely an experience. They have lots of authentic Greek pastries and food and also just about anything else your stomach desires. And then we were on the road again.

When we arrived in Vegas we hit the tables right away. We played a little Pitch Black Jack which is Black Jack with only a couple decks of cards and all of them are dealt face down as apposed to 6 decks dealt so everyone can see them. We had to cut it a little early so we could get ready for the Barry Manilow Concert!! Barry ended up being pretty good and I even liked it. He did look about 30 years younger than he really was. They even gave us this great glow stick!! After the concert we played a little more and then I went to bed early while my mom partied the night away. The next day we did a little more gambling and drove to Mesquite to look at retirement property. Well actually I took my mom to see Mesquite and hopefully talk her out of buying property there to retire. It is hotter than the surface of the sun there and there is nothing to do but gamble and golf. Needless to say she will not be retiring there.

Sunday we did a little shopping and I had to take a little nap from all the wild days we had been having. Then I met my friend Van for a couple drinks and some great conversation. Van and I have known each other for about 6 or 7 years. He is from Ohio and we used to work the Honda Hoot and Honda Homecoming events together teaching little kids how to ride motorcycles. We keep in touch a couple times a year and this was the first time I had seen him in a couple years. He recently moved to Vegas with his wife so it worked out perfect to meet up. I had a great time catching up with him and we are planning our winter dirt biking trips!!

Monday we made the long trip home. Took over 5 hours, little more than the trip out there. There was some traffic and we stopped at Starbucks to refuel. We topped the evening off with a trip to my moms’ favorite restaurant California Pizza Kitchen.
Parting thoughts: 1. People in Vegas don’t look in the mirror before they leave their hotel room. 2. It is customary in Vegas for women to only cover 1/10th of their “twins”. 3. Everyone is an alcoholic in Vegas.
