Diet and Nutrition

The Paleo Diet

There is lots of info on the Paleo diet. Robb Wolf has written a book called The Paleo Solution. I think he writes well, with humor and has a good base of knowledge on the subject. I highly recommend his book and website. I myself eat a mostly paleo diet and refer to Robb’s website for answers/advice etc.

The Zone Diet

The Zone Diet is a great diet which I did for 2 years and lost 40 lbs on. Its your basic caloric restriction diet where you eat certain portions of food all day. I measured all my food and ate mostly paleo style. This diet really helps you get control over portion size and learn food groups. Dr Sears invented this diet and there is several books and materials to reference for info.

Primal Blueprint

Mark Sission is probably one of my favorite diet and nutrition guys. When I’m not dieting I eat the Primal way. His books are great and I own a few of them. I also read his blog every week and whenever someone says something I don’t agree with I always refer to Mark for articles on the right info. I think everyone should at least look at the articles on his site and read his book.

Anabolic Solution for Powerlifters

By Di Pasquale. This book tells you how to get lean and strong and maintain/build strength. Great read, when I am dieting I do a modified version of this diet. Definitely not an easy diet for beginners or for people who lack discipline.  However this diet is very affective and tested over time. This is typically a bodybuilder type diet.

The Carb Nite Solution

By John Kiefer. I have read a few articles by John in Power Magazine and think he is brilliant. The diet is not for beginners, however he does get results. Most Paleo lovers would be turned off because of the high glycemic index foods. This is similar to the Anabolic Diet. I recommend reading Johns stuff. He has a lot of great info about building lean mass.
